#88 Botvelope

Yes, I see robots a lot of places now including when I'm doing bills. The envelope seemed to be staring at me.

#87 George Botshington

Oh that dreary winter's day when George Botshington crossed the Delaware. Nowhere near as dramatic as when George Washington did it, but Washington didn't have a robotic rowboat to help him.

#86 Neutron Robot Man

Inkscape/GIMP picture of my Schylling metal wind up robot that I have had for a while, the box says it's Neutron Robot Man and who am I to argue with a Neutron Robot Man?

Shelf of bots

Had to do some cleaning in my office today and tried to put all my robots on one shelf, at least those that I didn't take apart for parts or weren't temporary. I have a folder with my ones on paper or flat. Unfortunately some already need repairs, the arms fell off my papercraft skull bot so I'll have to glue it down or wire it down.

#85 Typecast Bot

Typecast Bot can't help it, it was made to be typed. It even feeds the correct line each time.

Why yes I have a box with keyboard and typewriter keys in it. Who doesn't?

#84 Zimmer Bot

Poor industrial bot, after years of hard abuse it has been reduced to using a walker or Zimmer frame if you're from England.

Made from my old impact tool (telco/network jack tool for putting the wires in the jack or on the phone closet side) that impacted the floor one too many times.

#83 Pacifist Error

Typical government shortsightedness. Let's make a pacifist automaton to help spread the word for non-violence and caring for all beings. In fact let's put the phrase 'War is not healthy for children and other living things" right on the front. We even have a similar model we can reuse for this purpose, the Swordmaster 538P never really caught on with robotic warfare. We'll just use that as our template.
......Unfortunately the government technicians did not do a full wipe before initializing Pacifist Bot and it reverted to Swordmaster mode and the coding got crossed on the message. It now believes war is healthy for children and all living things. It was last seen in rural Arkansas....

Made with an old pendant, beads, cocktail sword and an Altoids box.

#82 Disco Bot 2 - Electric Boogaloo!

Gave #27 the GIMP treatment. Now it has that appropriate powder blue tux, gold chain and swinging background. Still looks like iZac (Futurama's variation of Zach from Love Boat) but I can dig it, can you?

#81 A Loyal Bot

Most everyone carries a robot of this sort around with them, analyzing their purchasing habits while offering a discount for carrying them around. I have a bunch of 'loyalty' cards, many of them I've just opted out of my name/address or plenty are in a name like Phineas Q. Butterfat. So here's a little loyal robot, made from Harris-Teeter cards I had while I was in Washington DC for 3 months.

#80 Change Bot

8/23's Bot here. Out at my wife's grandmother's house, she had a box with coins and currency from her late husband. Much of the pictured money was sent by his brothers during World War II, some from Europe, some from Australia. Plus some other random coins. Here is a quick assemblage of them before we hit the road back home.

Updates later, news now

Craft magazine blog recognized Noah Scalin (the Skullmaster from Skull-A-Day) for his papercraft skull that became #75 here and gave a mention to here. So thank you Craft!

I am back from a short vacation, did a robot assemblage yesterday but have not downloaded pictures yet so two robots to come today. Visited my wife's 96 year old grandmother who is still busy quilting and card making, she's an amazing woman who has always been crafty and an inspiration, I hope if I make it to 96 I can still be having as much fun as she is.

#79 Tropical Starter

Still on vacation, found a florescent light starter in grandma's junk drawer. Made in Costa Rica so I also found some sort of fruit looking thing in the same junk drawer and Tropical Starter Bot it is.

#78 Pinecone Bot

Here is yesterday's bot - arranged pine cones with mica infused rock out at Newman Lake in eastern Washington near Spokane. BBQ for my father in-laws birthday and there are plenty of pine cones around.

#77 Vacation Bot

Bag? Check! Fedora? Check!
Going to be driving for about 7 hours today so I wanted to put something up before I left. I won't have internet access at my location but hope to stop in at a coffee shop to upload, still going to be making things each day or at least throwing quickee sketches out.

#76 Funky Chicken

But can it do the mashed potato? Doodled on an index card while on a telcon.

#75 Robot Skull ala Skull-A-Day

Over at Skull-A-Day Noah has once again unleashed the awesome in the form of a papercraft robot skull and of course seeing this I needed to make use of it:

I know I'll never reach the awesome levels of craftitude that Noah has but I do appreciate all he has done to motivate me and the great things he keeps coming up with!

#74 No joy for joystick bot

Doesn't it look like it's biting its lower lip, about to cry. Why? Because it didn't get big cartoony eyeballs and mouth like the last two days. I almost did another today, well I did and decided to not use it as my primary.

So here it is, TV Bot, a bonus for today, hoping it's the last of the hot summer days here as it is boiling in my office and the temptation will be there to anthropomorphize (or I suppose automatize?) more household objects if I can't work in my office very long.

#73 Recycling parts

A/C Robot is rolling its eyes thinking "He didn't just reuse the eyes and mouth from yesterdays bot, add eyebrows and call it a new robot just because it feels about 90 in his home office?"

Yes. Yes I did. Too hot to stay in my office long and the A/C bot is in our living room. So eyes go on and voila! Robot! Thanks to my dear wife and my brother in-law for the improvised bot.

#72 Follow the bouncing ball

Ever wonder how they did the 'follow the bouncing ball' in old cartoons or movies? Well, here it is, Bouncing Ball Unit #305. Now spending it's days doubling for Pilates support.

"To quote one of my old cartoon friends who worked in Bedrock - It's a living!"

#71 Golden Mantis

Started this one real early so it would be dry. Fortunately with it in the 90s it dried quickly. Golden Mantis Bot, Jovi air dry clay, wire and acrylic paint. Had to give it a kick-stand in front due to weight. This might also work for any Indiana Jones themed parties.

#67 Laundry Pile Robot

Pile of laundry in a robot-ish shape. That or a Jedi died on my floor.

#66 Felt Robot

Small felt robot. Reminds me of a Japanese Voltron kind of robot, or bad guy robot. And cat hair got on it almost immediately proving the powerful magnetic properties of felt.

#65 Old one for today

Ok, so I'm cheating today, this is something I did a few years ago - Internet Tough Guy, but it's basically a cyborg/robot. And I just am not going to find any mojo today aside from maybe another drawing. So to diversify, here's an old bot.

#64 12V Flashbot

Robot made from a 12V car plug adapter, base for some sort of device, a chip with 'flash' on it and to top it off, googly eyes! I do think googly eyes make many things better.

#63 Inkscape

Played in Inkscape again, this time I remembered to Export and not do a 'Save-as'

Not the greatest renders but I was in class again just goofing around. Hope to do a couple more detailed bots this weekend.

Still in a class for work. Making WinPE (Windows Preinstallation Environment) ISO with custom background.
