#370 Human Catcher

My much delayed robot is finally done. Well, it was done two weeks ago but I had to travel for work and didn't get pictures taken.

Here is the human catching robot, steely eyes gazing for rogue meat bags.


Ready to sweep up vermin with its net.

Stainless steel sheet, computer parts, strip steel, a little net from an old fondue set, wood dowel, plastic covers for light boxes and weird light adapters for eyes. I learned that I will not try making a robot using my sheet stainless again unless it is strictly welding, I broke 6 or 7 drill bits trying to make holes in this, even my high end bits had trouble. Finally used a nail to punch a hole then widen with the bit.

Or a robot of spades, spade terminals! Since I have a bunch of these for any future robo-claws an assembly was in order. Plus this is bot #222 on 1-11-11! I could have done something binary again, but didn't.

This bot is known to stick its neck out to help any automatons it can.



Made from a phone connector, power outlet, ribbon cable and plastic legs. It reminded me of Ithorians from the Star Wars universe (Hammerheads):

I know what you're thinking: 'Did he fire 635 shots or only 634?' Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I've kinda lost track myself. But being as this is a Megatech 138 Quadricating Plasma Cannon, the most powerful cannon in the world, and would blow your central processor clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do ya, punkbot?

#142 Shaking hands with the three legged bot

Is that a grounding wire or are you just happy to see me?



Circuit board from a dead surge suppressor, looked like a three legged bot on the back side, I will harvest the parts on the other side for future projects.

Side note - my bristlebot died, the connector to the motor broke so I can either do a very fussy solder job (of which my soldering iron has the wrong tip) or go to Goodwill and get some more phones/pagers for motor donations.

A well used messenger bot, scooting about on the one wheel darting around traffic. This one is showing rust and a tendency to drift to its right.

Made another working bot, a Bristlebot using a battery, toothbrush, bobby pins for outriggers and a vibrating motor from a dead cell phone.



And my cat still could care less.

Thought it looked like a pair of overalls. Just me? Ok, fine, funny looking pants then.
