#269 Not the droid you are looking for
Especially if you're only a fan of the original Star Wars trilogy. I'm currently playing Knights of the Old Republic for the first time (yay getting on board with a 2004 game!) that was $20 at the Mac app store. This is T3-M4 the R2-D2 equivalent from 4000 years prior to the original trilogy. It doesn't have the same charm as R2 but does look like a faithful dog of sorts. I am sucked in for over 10 hours of playing so far and not even a 1/4 of the way in, so there went my weekend and here came a screen shot.

#267 Carrot Shred Bot
With 'Shred' in its name it should really be some sort of heavy metal headbanging robot. But instead it's from my lunch. A Higher Taste Bhima Power Burger that had a LOT of shredded carrots on it. And it was delicious too!

#266 Found in a game
Hadn't played 'Azada' in a while then remembered that there is a pretty sweet robot in it:
Lazy today? You bet, we were hyped with a killer snowstorm for two days so my hopes were high I would be able to stay at home all day. Woke to 3 inches on the ground but in Portland proper there was hardly any, so the masses had to work while the kids had today off. /sometimessuckstobeanadultrant

#264 The Sabertooth Robot
Today's robot is an homage to Mike Russell's Sabertooth Vampire character based on a twitter sketch request.
Mike does Culturpulp features (with the awesome Mr. Do and Mr. Don't) in the Oregonian as well as movie reviews and other ventures. He's @culturpulp on twitter

#263 Robot Skull Quilt Square
Today's robot was done as part of Skull A Day's art quilt auction project to benefit Becky's Fund which is a national non-profit domestic violence and education organization. So far they have enough blocks for two quilts but the deadline is Saturday May 28th, 2011 so they can get more done in time for Skull Appreciation Day on June 4th.

#261 Indecent Exposure Bot
"Will some be offended by my lack of pants? Sure there are famous characters with no pants such as Porky Pig and Donald Duck but neither have a swivel lifting block between their appendages that is there for the world to see."
Oh automaton, if you've got it flaunt it, you're just as the creator made you *
*not an endorsement of letting non-automatons 'swing free'
Mini flashlight and wire.

#259 SCIENCE!
This automaton has donated its chassis to science. It is now used as a teaching aid in a robo-osteology class.
Yes I reused parts from #257 the Untangler, it looked too much like a skull the other way around so a robot skeleton seemed appropriate. Nod to Skull A Day and Noah for the Skullphabet 2 font and as always for Skully inspiration!

#250 Iron Willy
An early 1900s attempt at making a crime fighting automaton, Iron Willy was strong, iron fisted and a belly full of fire. Unfortunately it was also plate steel with rivets procured from the Harland and Wolff Shipyard, builders of the Olympic Class ocean liner - aka the builders of Titanic. Thus the first cold night out while attempting to stop some local hoods Iron Willy took a swing, missed and hit a brick wall causing his rivets to fracture and the steel to split. Iron Willy was melted down.
