#128 Retro Robot

For the next binary day (101010) I wanted to pull another special project out, so what is old is what is new.

SUBMIT TO THE DECOUPAGE! (had to do the Homestar Runner/Strong Bad reference).

Stained plaque with cut-out of some serious 1970s droids - R2D2 and C3PO, decoupaged and varnished. You know you grew up in the 70s if you had at least one decoupaged item on your wall (I had a surf scene). C3PO did program Binary Load Lifters previously so there's your 101010 reference.

#126 M-ET KLY, Clown Robot

Seen here at the 1964 New York Worlds Fair is M-ET KLY, the first attempt at a clown automaton. Unfortunately for this Weary Will-E the real Weary Willie unleashed a fury that we all suspect clowns are capable of and through a swift corporate law action M-ET disappeared, some believe to the bottom of the East River, all we know is Emmett Kelly Jr. would not say, just put on his sad clown face and walk away.

#125 Robot Corn (Ornamental Variety)

Corn, Robotic, Ornamental. 1 Each.

Robot Corn (Ornamental) is wondering if the creator will continue to anthropomorphize other fall decorative vegetables and gourds. Chances are yes, it will continue to happen.




Ornamental corn, googly eyes, silvery pipe stems. It will keep Acorn Bot company.

Nightlight bulb, .17 cent clearance faucet handle, wire, computer parts. Also testing out my homemade light box, so far so good - hoping to up the quality of my smaller robot pics.

#123 Cyborg Knievel

Why yes I am reusing yesterday's bot. And yes, I am being a lazy creator this week - work has killed my creativity so far. Tomorrow will hopefully be better.

#121 Birthday Bot Cards

My wife and mother in-law are totally on board the robot routine now. Birthday cards from both involved robots. Wife did the wheeled bot (with METAL cake!) and mom did the fabric cut out from some old fabric from a previous project. Thank you!

#120 Birthday Bot!

'Beep!' that's robot for 'Happy Birthday!'
Today is my birthday so I did a simple robot on my cake using decorating gel from a tube. Were I to do it again I'd just get some food coloring and make royal icing and squeeze it out from a bag - better control than the little gel tube. But oh well, we're working hard on eating the evidence.

#119 Binary Steampunk Skull

Since it is a binary day (100110) I made a binary bot in ASCII Art, took #75 Robot Skull and ran it through an ASCII Art Generator located Sporkforge.com and Voila!



Sporkforge has some cool tools on the website that are worth a look including a tilt-shift photo generator.
